Privacy Policy for Pivotrap
Last Updated: November 4, 2026
Compound Basic LLC ("we," "us," or "our") makes Pivotrap, a strategy game where you tip dice across the board to claim territory. We built Pivotrap to collect as little about you as possible: there are no accounts, no email sign-up and no chat. This Privacy Policy explains what information Pivotrap collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies wherever you play Pivotrap, including CrazyGames.com, our website and any mobile version. If you play on a game portal such as CrazyGames, that portal also collects information under its own privacy policy.
1. Information Collection and Use
Pivotrap collects only what it needs to run online matches and the leaderboard. Matches against the computer, or with a friend on the same device, send nothing to our servers.
A. Personal Data
We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, payment details or precise location. When you first play online, Pivotrap signs you in anonymously through Unity Gaming Services and gives you a random player ID. If you choose a player name, it is shown to other players on the leaderboard. Please don't use your real name, or anyone else's.
B. Online Play Data
When you play online, we collect:
Ranked results: your wins, losses, draws and points.
Match reports: the match ID, both players' IDs, board size, winner, tile counts and time. A result only counts when both players' reports agree.
Connection data: your IP address and the website you are playing on, seen by our relay server while you are connected.
Room codes and moves: held only in our relay server's memory during a match, and deleted when it ends.
C. Usage Data
Settings and local stats: volume, controls, board size, tips seen, and local wins and losses are saved in your browser or device only, using local storage rather than tracking cookies.
Crash data: if Pivotrap crashes or runs into errors, basic crash and performance data is sent to Unity to help us fix bugs.
D. How We Use It
We use this information only to run online matches, keep the leaderboard, prevent cheating and attacks on our servers, hide offensive player names, and fix bugs. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
2. Third-Party Service Providers
Pivotrap relies on these services, each with its own privacy policy:
Unity Gaming Services: anonymous sign-in, the leaderboard, match checking and crash data. Unity Privacy Policy
Render: hosts our online-match relay server. Render Privacy Policy
CrazyGames: hosts Pivotrap when you play on CrazyGames.com. CrazyGames Privacy Policy
Other players can see your player name, rank, points and record on the leaderboard. During a match, your opponent's game receives your moves and your player ID.
Advertising: Pivotrap shows no ads today. If we add ads later, ads on CrazyGames will be served by CrazyGames, and any mobile version may use Unity Ads. We will update this policy first.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect players and our services from fraud or abuse.
3. Children's Privacy
Pivotrap is suitable for players aged 12 and up and has no chat. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The anonymous player ID and IP address are used only to run the game and keep it secure, never for advertising. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
4. Data Security and Retention
We use commercially acceptable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure. Match moves and room codes are deleted when a match ends. Relay server logs are deleted automatically by our host after a short period. Your player ID, name, record and match reports are kept while the leaderboard runs, or until you ask us to delete them.
5. International Transfer
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where the law requires, they use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Access the information we hold about you.
Correct it. You can also change your player name at any time on the Leaderboard screen.
Delete it. Email us your player ID, which you can find and copy at the bottom of the Leaderboard screen, and we will delete your player ID, name, record and match reports. We ask for the ID rather than your player name because only you can see it, so no one else can ask us to delete your record. Clearing your browser's site data removes everything stored on your device, including your player ID, so copy the ID first if you also want us to delete your online record.
Object to how we use it, or complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell your personal information. We respond to requests within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK, we rely on providing the game you asked to play, and on our legitimate interest in keeping it fair and secure.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. If a change is significant, such as adding ads or accounts, we will also announce it in the game.
